This strange looking beast.
It’s a Colmar SL160E electric shunter. Power is by two 40 kW motors which are supplied by a 4,200 Ah battery pack.
80 kW is only about 107 bhp, (coincidentally it’s about as much as my car) so we’re not talking about much in the way of power, especially as it weighs about 30 tonnes.
So, what kind of weight can this machine move?
About 3,200 tonnes on level ground. It’s surprising what you can do with really low gearing.

Do electric motors really need gearing though? Does spinning faster generate less heat? They do have 100% torque available at 0rpm so fearing seem redundant

They do indeed. An electric car has one fixed gear, but it’s still a reduction gear. To give an example, a Leaf has a reduction of about 8 to 1.
